It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Artcrossing is getting busier!

So, as a few of you have already noticed, I got the deviousness award for July. (

) They mentioned #Artcrossing in it and it's on the today page as well as at the bottom of (almost) every single page on the site. More than a million people see that every day

So we've had LOADS of new members flooding in.

If you're new - firstly, hi!

- and secondly, please be patient whilst you wait for me to add you to the list/accept your join request/give you a profile/reply to your note. It's quite busy over here right now!

Also please read the blog on joining. If you're viewing this from the main #Artcrossing page, it should be on the left of this journal, a bright green button, you can't miss it! If you send a blank join request it will just get declined and you'll be asked to reapply.
